PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently make a beam incident on a display element, to make the incident beam an output light from the display element as much as possible and to improve the visibility of the display element by making incident the beam from an illuminator in the state of a nearly parallel beam in an oblique direction not in a vertical direction for the display element surface. SOLUTION: The illuminator 9 imparting the beam to the display element 7 is loaded attachably/detachably on an inner surface of a display cover 8 oposite to the display element 7. Then, the beam made incident from the illuminator 9 on the reflection display element 7 is made in the state of the nearly parallel beam in an oblique direction becoming nearly 45 deg.-60 deg. not in the vertical direction for the display surface. By such a constitution, the beam from the illuminator 9 is made incident efficiently on the display element 7, and since the beam from the illuminator 9 is made incident in the oblique direction for the display element 7 surface, the beam made incident on the display element 7 is made the output from the display element 7 as much as possible, and the visibility of the display element is improved. |
