PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a brush seal used for sealing a section between a rotor of a gas turbine and a steam turbine and a casing surrounding it and to improve its mounting and manufacturing properties. SOLUTION: A brush seal 10 is attached to a thin and long bristle holder 20 and includes brush seal bristles bendable with a hand containing plastic. A rotary machine has a rotor and a stator casing segment, and segments 14, 16 of the brush seal are positioned in a surface groove of the stator casing segment in which each corresponds. In one example, the bristle holder can be bent with a hand, the bristles and the bristle holder specify a monolithic unit, and the brush seal is wound around a spool like a coil and is cut to a desired length from this coil. Consequently, it is not necessary to manufacture the brush seal segment having a specific radius and a specific length in the circumferential direction suitable for a specific stator casing segment. |
