PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform fixing work in a short time by forming a split cylinder wherein a metallic plate is bent in a C-shaped cross section a female screw is formed on its inner surface part, covering an outer periphery part of the nut body with a covering body, protruding an operating part for spreading and contracting the nut body in a radial direction from the covering body, and holding freely to spread and contract the nut body. SOLUTION: An operating part 5 of a nut A is picked by fingers, a diameter of a split cylinder shaped nut body 2 is enlarged, and the nut A is screwed around a bolt 7. The operating part 5 is separated at a predetermined position, a diameter of the nut body 2 is contracted by elastically restoring force, and a female screw part 1 of an inner circumferential surface part of the nut body 2 is hung on the bolt 7. A locking part 6 of a covering body 4 as a diameter contracting and holding means 3 is folded at its folding part, and is locked by shoving between two open angle shaped projecting pieces for operating. Then, the diameter of the nut body 2 is contracted further, so that the female screw part 1 is surely screwed on a male screw 8. Therefore, the nut can easily perform the fixing work of non-tightening members B, and it is possible to perform additional tightening amount and to detach as well as conventional nuts.
