PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an autofocusing device capable of preventing focusing from being disabled and adequately deciding focusing by appropriately selecting a focusing area. SOLUTION: An evaluation value obtaining circuit 42 calculates evaluation values for focusing for plurality set focusing areas #0, #1, #2, #3, and #4 and stores them in a memory 43 based on the data of an image picked up by an imaging device (CCD) 18 at an image pickup part 12. The adequate focusing are is selected from the AF evaluation values at a control part 40, and a lens for focusing is moved to a lens position in accordance with the maximum value of the AF evaluation value calculated at the selected area and controlled to be a focusing condition. |
