PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type display device that a picture display position can be easily and quickly adjusted then and there even when it is deviated because of secular change and the like after a product is completed. SOLUTION: This projection type display device is provided with a driving device for rotation 26 rotating the projection lens 7 of an optical unit centering an optical axis 18, a driving device for zooming 27 actuating the zoom adjustment mechanism of the lens 7, a first driving device for movement 28 moving a prism unit 17 having liquid crystal panels 8R, 8G and 8B in an X-axis direction orthogonally crossed to the optical axis 18 and a second driving device for movement 29 moving the unit 17 in a Y-axis direction orthogonally crossed to the optical axis 18 and the X-axis direction. Then, a cabinet is provided with an operation switch by which the respective driving devices 26-29 can be operated from the outside.
