PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a window capable of artificially controlling rays of light by disposing a counter substrate over a light controlling glass and convecting gas between these at a specified flow rate to adjust the temperature of the light controlling glass and to control the light transmission of the glass. SOLUTION: An aqueous composition that varies reversibly between a transparent state and a cloudy light shielding state in accordance with temperature is sealed in the space between a pair of transparent glass substrates to obtain a light controlling glass 1. A transparent glass substrate as a counter substrate 2 is disposed over the light controlling glass 1 at about 1 mm to about 30 cm interval. A gaseous fluid medium 3 is convected between the light controlling glass 1 and the counter substrate 2 at 0.2-50 m/sea flow rate to adjust the temperature of the light controlling glass 1 and to control the light transmission of the glass 1. The fluid medium 3 is not limited if it is gas and air or inert gas may be used. A heating element 5 is preferably added to the light controlling glass 1. The glass 1 is heated and made cloudy to shield light with the heating element 5 and the glass 1 is returned to the transparent state by utilizing the cooling action of the fluid medium 3.
