PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lighten a cage, and give high intensity and high speed by braiding carbon fibers perpendicular to the circumferential direction and an axial direction of the cage to form of a graphitized carbon fiber reinforced composite material. SOLUTION: Carbon fibers 1a along a circumferential direction of a cage and carbon fibers 1b along an axial direction of the cage are crossed at the angle of 90 degrees. The carbon filaments 1a per unit area are set to ten filaments, and the carbon filaments 1b per unit area are set to five filaments. Carbon fiber cloth is braided so that a ratio of the carbon fibers in the circumferential direction to the carbon fibers of the axial direction is set to 0.5, and is then baked as a predetermined thickness of curling by winding in a circumferential direction to graphitize. A machined cage made of a cross typed C/C composite material is made by boring a plurality of pockets 2 by machine work. Such a machined cage for a bearing has anti-high speed property having a DN value of 3,000,000 or more. |
