PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adequately print a foundation for achieving a clear image on various kinds of recording paper. SOLUTION: There is disclosed a method for printing and treating of a foundation for a thermal transfer printer wherein foundation printing is applied to a recording medium by using an ink for the foundation printing. Electrifying energy to be applied to heating elements in a thermal head for an external circumference edge of a foundation printing region is greater than that to be applied to heating elements for the inside of the foundation printing region.
