PURPOSE: A gain stabilizing device for a power amplifier is provided to compensate gain characteristic of the power amplifier and thereby stabilize the frequency with respect to the entire band of a desired frequency. CONSTITUTION: A gain stabilizing device includes a detecting means for detecting input/output of a power amplifier (11) and a variable voltage damper (13). The gain stabilizing device further includes an A/D converting means (18) for digitizing an input power signal and an output power signal from the power amplifier, a temperature sensing means (14) for extracting temperature characteristic of the power amplifier (11), and a microprocessor (17). The microprocessor (17) stores an experimental approximate value according to H/W characteristic of the power amplifier (11), and is programmed to control damping of the damper (13) so that the digitized input/output power characteristic data inputted from the A/D converting means (18) and temperature sensing means approach to the experimental approximate value. A D/A converting means (16) converted the control signal of the microprocessor (17) to an analog signal and transfers it to the variable voltage damper (13).
