PURPOSE: A foreign material removal apparatus for a linear compressor is provided to prevent the abrasion of the sliding part by removing foreign materials contained in the oil supplied to the sliding part between a cylinder and a piston. CONSTITUTION: A piston(6) reciprocates in a cylinder(3) by the rectilinear reciprocation of a magnet assembly between an inner stator assembly and an outer stator assembly of a linear motor by the induced magnetism according to the generation of the induced magnetism by the feed of current to the linear motor. The oil filled in a closed vessel is pumped by the vibration of an oil supply unit with the vibration by the reciprocating piston, and is supplied to a compressing unit. Thereafter the oil flows into an oil pocket(1b) along an oil passage of a frame(1), cools the cylinder, and flows to the sliding part between the cylinder and the piston via an oil passage hole(3a). Then the oil passes a porous filtering member(100). Herein, the foreign materials contained in the oil are filtered, and the oil flows to the sliding part repeatedly.
