PURPOSE: A method for processing alarm of transmission device in a transmission device is provided to generate only the highest level alarm by examining a high level alarm and a low level alarm. CONSTITUTION: A method for processing alarm of transmission device comprises the steps of examining alarm bits of each unit when receiving alarm data from each part of a transmission device; examining whether a forward protection time is passed, or not; setting the alarm bits on an alarm table if passed, and examining the presence of a high level alarm; generating the alarm if the high level alarm does not exit; examining whether a backward protection time is passed, or not when receiving alarm cancel bits; and resetting the alarm bits on the alarm table if passed, and canceling the alarm.
