PURPOSE: A method for detecting the laundry amount is provided to simply and exactly detect the amount of the laundry inside a drum of the drum washing machine by checking a passed time until maintaining a regular speed with rotating the drum. CONSTITUTION: A hardware to detect the amount of the laundry contains a unit for inputting a key(10), a microcomputer(20), a unit for driving a drum motor(30), the drum motor(40), and a unit for detecting a current of the drum motor(50). The microcomputer(20) controls a general operation of a drum washing machine by a key signal from an inputting unit of key(10). The rotation of the drum motor(40) is controlled by outputting a control signal of motor to rotate the drum motor(40). A continuous time of excessive state is detected by the driving current of the drum motor(40) fed through an A/D port from the detecting unit of the drum motor current(50). A washing process is controlled by deciding a washing time, rinsing numbers, and a dehydrating time with a decided amount of the laundry. The amount of the laundry is decided by comparing each standard value with the checked continuous time of excessive state. |
