PURPOSE: An automatically controlling bell volume according to surrounding noise sensing for mobile telephone is provided to reduce a damage due to a noise by controlling a bell sound. CONSTITUTION: A mobile telephone for automatically controlling bell volume according to surrounding noise sensing for mobile telephone comprises an RF processing portion(10), a CPU(20), a key pad(30), an LCD(40), a codec(50), a speaker(60), and a sensor(70). A method for automatically controlling bell volume according to surrounding noise sensing comprises the steps of: determining(ST11) whether an output of a bell is an automatic control, or a manual control; performing(ST13) a manual control of the bell volume if the manual control; selecting(ST15) a mode according to the bell volume if the automatic control; comparing (ST17) a sensed noise and a reference value; outputting(ST18) a bell sound of the lowest level; outputting(ST21) the bell sound within a predetermined range; and outputting(ST20) the bell sound of the highest level.
