APPARATUS FOR FORMING COLOR IMAGE

PURPOSE: An apparatus for forming a color image is to prevent the color discord from generated when the color image is formed by superposing a number of monochromatic toners. CONSTITUTION: A mmiddle belt(7) is rotated in a first speed. To secondarily transfer a color toner of the mmiddle belt on a copy paper, a second transferring roll(9) only is compressed against the mmiddle belt on secondarily transferring. The second transferring roll is rotated faster than the first speed by a driving member comprising a gear mechanism(24). A torque limiter(28) limits a driving torque of the second transferring roll when it is depressed against the mmiddle transferring belt to a load torque of the second transferring roll when it is remote from the mmiddle transferring belt. The second transferring roll rotates as same or slightly faster than that of the mmiddle transferring belt. The load of the second transferring roll applied to the mmiddle transferring belt is limited to a predetermined value to eliminate the speed variation of the mmiddle transferring belt.
