MEDIA ACCESS CONTROLLER

摘要

PURPOSE: A media access controller is to control a time slot and timing in accessing to network for transmitting data upward on cable TV network such as HFC(Hybrid Fiber Coax). CONSTITUTION: A reception data processing unit(10) processes data inputted from the outside, and expels T1 frame and timing signal. A count value generating unit expels an upward slot position count value from the timing signal, and output a first and second clock signals according to the timing signal. A competition assignment slot generation processing unit(40) compares a value obtained by repeatedly counting a certain number of time slot by 3msec unit according to the first clock signal with a competition assignment slot number within a slot composition index data expelled from the T1 fame and timing signal, outputs a competition assignment slot control signal. A controlling unit(30) outputs a control signal for controlling a competition assignment and fixed assignment according to a media access control relation data expelled from a reception ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) data processing unit(14), and outputs the fixed assignment slot number.
