PURPOSE: A filter apparatus for cleaning air is provided to remove the periodical cleaning work of the filter since the filter is provided in the shape of a roll and to conveniently replace already used filter with a new one without disassembling the frame. CONSTITUTION: A filter apparatus for cleaning air includes a housing(10) to be fixed on a vehicle or sealing of a building, a filter part(20) to be accommodated in the housing and having a first rotation reel(21) wound with unused filter(25a) in the shape of roll, a first fixing rib(21a) having an elastic element for supporting the first rotation reel, a second rotation reel(22) wound with used filter(25b) to be stored, a second fixing rib(21b) having an elastic element for supporting the second rotation reel, and a driving motor(24) for transferring power to the second rotation reel via a driven shaft(23), and a frame part(30) coupled to an end of the housing by a hinge(11) and having a locking element(31) to be coupled with a coupling element(13) of the housing, wherein as an air cleaner is energized, the unused filter is drawn from the first rotation reel through a guide roller to the second roller to be stored thereon.
