PURPOSE: A device and method for network encryption is provided a device using random number generator and a method using password key and random number for encoding and decoding data frame or packet. CONSTITUTION: An encoding process is carried out at encoding part(100). A DTE(Data Terminal Equipment) receiver(1) receives data frames or packets and stores the data frames or packets in a DTE buffer(2). When storing, the DTE buffer(2) copies a protocol header of the data frames or packets to a DCE(Data Circuit terminating Equipment) buffer(7). N bytes of user data part are used for resetting a first random number generator(3) and for operating exclusive OR with N bytes password key stored in a first N byte encryption part(4). The N bytes user data are encoded and stocked at DCE transmission buffer(7). The encoded data frames and packets are sent to DCE transmission(8). A decoding process is executed at decoding part(200). A DCE receiver(9) receives data frames or packets and stocks at a DCE buffer(10). With stocking, the DCE buffer(10) duplicates a protocol header of the data frames or packets to a DCE buffer(15). The N byte of user data is used for resetting a second random number generator(11) and for taking exclusive OR with N bytes password key in a second N byte encryption part(12). The N bytes user data are decoded and stored at DTE transmission buffer(15). The decoded data frames or packets is offered to DTE transmission part(16).
