PURPOSE: A method for embodying an SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) agent interface in a system composed of a plurality of boards is provided to achieve the exchange of information between the boards mounted on each slot using one SNMP agent and a plurality of IPCs(Inter Process Communications). CONSTITUTION: As an SNMP agent is installed only in a main board(1), communication with an external manager(5) is made through the SNMP agent of the main board(1) and system intercommunication with each I/O board(2,3,4) is made by proceeding the IPC between the IPC process routines installed in all boards. In this case, the IPC proceeding is achieved through an IPC packet.
