METHOD FOR PROCESSING IMAGE DATA

PURPOSE: A method for processing image data is provided to improve the quality of reproduced images by applying a proper data processing method to image data according to the kind of the image data. CONSTITUTION: An image expression kind is analyzed from an input image data (100). If the image data is determined to be an image data read by a scanner from offset printing(110), a sum of gray scale values is obtained for the pixel data of which number is corresponding to a predetermined number of halftone cell(120). An output display pattern data of halftone preset according to the obtained sum is output to an image reproduction apparatus. If the image data is determined not to be the image data read by a scanner from offset printing(150), the data is compared with the gray scale values of the pixel data corresponding to a preset dithering matrix.
