PURPOSE: A composition for a friction plate of pantograph is provided to improve arc resistance, water resistance, lubrication and electric conductivity, especially extends the life time thereof. CONSTITUTION: The composition is characterized by comprising 82 to 88wt% of copper, 8to 12wt% of tin and 0.5 to 3wt% of black lead, and 4 to 7wt% of abrasion-resistant light metal. A preparation of the composition is performed by mixing sequently the components, compression-molding the mixture, for example at pressures of about 2.5 to 3.5ton/cm¬2, sintering them at temperatures of 650 to 850°C, for example for 2hrs, and then incorporating the sintered material into a conductive mechanical oil. The abrasion-resistant light metal is characterized by comprising any one of a group of chromium, molybdenum-iron alloy, and alloy flour for a steel.
