PURPOSE: A digital filter for an optical disk system is provided to effectively scatter time load and improve a compensating effect by differentiating and integrating different sampling times during an error correction process. CONSTITUTION: A digital filter for an optical disk system includes a sampler(200) for servo error after determining a sampling time according to a system clock. The servo error from the sampler(200) is retarded by a first sampling time by a first sample retarding part(210) and by a second sampling time by a second sample retarding part(211). According to the output from the first sample retarding part(210), a first compensating part(220) compensates an error. According to the output from the sampler(200), a second compensating part(221) compensates an error. According to the output from the second sample retarding part(211), a third compensating part(222) compensates an error. An adder(240) adds the outputs from the first, second and third compensating parts(220,221,222).
