PURPOSE: A method for restricting the watching of a charged channel in a television is to restrict the watching of a pay-per-view channel of the charged channels, thereby decreasing a user's economical load. CONSTITUTION: A watching restriction method comprises the steps of: accumulating a watching charge of a corresponding program whenever watching a broadcasting program of a pay-per-view channel at a first memory; determining whether a total watching charge accumulated at the first memory exceeds a predesignated watching restriction charge; and outputting an alarming message when it is determined that the total watching charge exceeds the predesignated watching restriction charge. The method further comprises a step of stopping displaying of the corresponding program when it is determined that the total watching charge exceeds the predesignated watching restriction charge. |
