ACTIVE MATERIAL FOR LITHIUM SECONDARY BATTERY AND FABRICATION METHOD OF THE SAME

PURPOSE: An active material for lithium secondary battery and a fabrication method of the same are provided to enhance discharge capacitance and cycle life characteristics under high temperature. CONSTITUTION: An active material for lithium secondary battery consists of powder of LixMn2O4 or LixMnO2, metal alkoxide solution and metal oxide. The x of LixMn2O4 or LixMnO2 is 1.5 or less than 1.5. The powder is coated by the metal alkoxide solution and then treated by heat. The metal oxide is coated on the surface of the resultant. The crystalline structure of the LixMn2O4 is preferably a spinel structure. The heat treatment condition is preferably 800-900 degree.
