PURPOSE: A system and a method for automating a railway crossing are provided to regulate time to operate an alarm device around a railway crossing based on the speed of a train passing through the railway crossing and to supply data on the arrival time of the train to passengers by sensing the train traveling on a railroad line. CONSTITUTION: When each vehicle of a train enters over an entrance sensor(12), the entrance sensor senses the vehicle with the amount of change of a magnetic field. Then when the amount of change of the magnetic field is input to an electric converter(100), the electric converter changes the input magnetic signal to an electric signal. Herein, the electrically changed signal is connected to a data storage unit(120), and the data storage unit stores data on the signal sensed from each sensors. The output of the data storage unit is input to a data operation processor(130), and the data is transmitted to an alarm device through a controller by using the data calculated from the data operation processor. The alarm device informs passengers of a vehicle to pass a railway crossing and the entrance of the train. The controller(160) transmits a proper control signal to the data storage unit, the data operation processor and the alarm device or generally controls the constitution elements of a system of automatically blocking the railway crossing.
