Thermal treatment of wood materials to improve resistance to external attack, dimensional stability and mechanical resistance

The treatment process commences with drying of the wood, followed by homogenization and heating. The wood is cooled after the homogenization, and water vapor produced in the earlier stages eliminated from the processing enclosure. The enclosure is sealed during the heating stage, so pyrolysis of the material occurs in the presence of gas issued during the material transformation.
