PURPOSE: To obtain a dense sintered compact with high mechanical strength from calcium carbonate as raw material. CONSTITUTION: A sintering auxiliary is added to calcium carbonate followed by sintering at normal pressures and then conducting an autoclave treatment. As a result, both investment cost and energy cost for calcium carbonate sintering can be markedly cut. This method enables the objective calcium carbonate solidified body (sintered compact) useful as e.g. a construction/civil engineering material to be manufactured at low cost. |
