PRECIPITATION TUBE FOR CENTRIFUGAL SEPARATION

A precipitation tube capable of extracting the lower layer liquid from a two-liquid phase system centrifugally separated into upper and lower layers. An inner cylinder is fixed in a top-opened container body such that the inner cylinder communicates at its upper and lower regions with the container body. The space between the inner peripheral surface of the container body and the outer peripheral surface of the inner cylinder is used as a centrifugation chamber. A sealing lid for covering the top opening in the container body is integrated with a piston plug that is to be inserted in the inner cylinder. During insertion of the piston plug, the upper region of the centrifugation chamber and the lower end of the piston plug are in communication with each other through a passage formed in the piston plug. When the piston plug has been inserted into the innermost region of the inner cylinder, the passage is cut off. As another invention, the inner cylinder is inserted into the top-opened container body, and its lower end port is closed by a closure plug that will slip off under a downward pressing force. The closure plug has a shape such that when it falls onto the bottom of the container body, it tilts forward, backward, rightward or leftward.
