The invention relates to a medical workstation (5-8) comprising an imaging system (13), a control device (18) that controls several tasks that run at the same time, a reproduction device (14) and an overlay device (17). The overlay device (17) is configured in such a way that the user interface of the reproduction device (14) is subdivided into areas, whereby the medical images (21) of a task are reproduced in one image area (20) and overlays (23-31) comprising information and control elements relating to said task appear in a control area (22). Selectable fields are arranged on the edge of the monitor image in the form of card tabs that are respectively allocated to a dynamically configurable task that can run at the same time. The currently called task that can be seen on the card tab (25) is marked for identification purposes.
