The invention relates to a brake (1) with a base, a brake actuating device (4) mounted in said base and two brake disks (7, 10) which are linked with the base in a rotationally fixed manner. Said brake further comprises a friction-lined disk (9) arranged between said two brake disks (7, 10). Said friction-lined disk is linked with a rotary shaft (8) in a rotationally fixed manner. The brake disk (7) facing the base is arranged so that it can be axially moved and engaged in a brake position by the brake actuating device (4). The aim of the invention is to simplify replacement of the friction-lined disk (9) of a brake (1) so that it is no longer necessary to dissemble the entire brake (1) for this purpose. To this end, the base is provided with a manually operated release means. Said release means comprises an actuator surface (28''') which can be moved in the axial direction of the brake and can be displaced from an operating position in which the actuator surface (28''') is spaced apart from the axially movable brake disk (7) into an actuating position in which the actuator surface (28''') forces the axially movable brake disk (7) away from the friction-lined disk (9) in a direction opposite to that of the brake actuating force.
