<p>A broadband communication system comprises a broadband host digital terminal (12) and a network interface (26). The host digital terminal (12) connects to a network (14) that is connected to at least one information source (16, 18, 20, 22) that sends information over the network (14) to the host digital terminal (12). The network interface (26) is configured such that a selection device (24) may be connected to the network interface (26) for requesting a desired information item for reception. The host digital terminal (12) has a profile corresponding to the network interface (26). The profile indicates a limited set of entitled information items that the network interface (26) is entitled to receive. The host digital terminal (12) sends the desired information to the network interface (26) when the desired information is within the set of entitled information items.</p> |
