AGENT FOR PROPHYLAXIS AND TREATMENT OF PANIC DISORDER

An agent for the prophylaxis and treatment of panic disorder, which comprises at least one compound selected from the group consisting of (+/-)-2-(4-chlorophenyl)-5,6-dihydrol[1]benzothiepino[5,4-c]pyridazin-3(2H)-one 7-oxide, an optical isomer thereof and 2-(4-chlorophenyl)-5,6-dihydro[1]benzothiepino[5,4-c]pyridazin-3(2H)-one 7,7-dioxide, a method for the prophylaxis and treatment of panic disorder, and use of these compounds. The agent for the prophylaxis and treatment of panic disorder of the present invention serves well for the prophylaxis and treatment of various symptoms of panic disorder, such as panic attack, agoraphobia and phobic anxiety, without typical side effects observed with conventional benzodiazepine compounds.
