A cutting fluid composition excellent in solubility, lubricity, cutting performance, rust-preventive properties, safety, and cleaning ability and reduced in foaming. The composition comprises as the active ingredients: an N-(long chain acyl)amino acid and/or salt thereof or an N-(linear alkyl)amino acid and/or salt thereof; and an alkylalkylene oxide and/or acylalkylene oxide.
