<p>The invention relates to cationic layered compounds of general formula (I): [EeZzDdVv(OH-)x](An-)a.qH2O, wherein E means a monovalent cation from the group of alkaline metals; e means a number from 0 to 2; Z means a divalent metal cation; z means a number from 0 to 6; D means a trivalent metal cation; d means a number from 0 to 3; V means a tetravalent metal cation; v means a number from 0 to 1; (An-) means an acid anion with the charge n-, n being a whole number from 1 to 3 and q means a number from 1 to 10; on the condition that x > a and e + 2z+3d+4v=x+na. The primary particles of said compounds are made up of crystallites which are 2 to 25 nanometers in size, their secondary particle size being 7 to 19 νm. The inventive compounds are particularly suitable for stabilising halogen-containing plastics against thermal and/or photochemical degradation.</p> |
