The present invention pertains to the building industry and to the protection of the environment and may be used as a building material or as a filler in the biological filters of systems for intensively purifying waste water, drinkable water and ventilation emissions of polluting substances. This invention more precisely relates to a high-porosity ceramic material named "Redoxite" that includes a formed and enriched clayish raw material comprising open pores on its surface as well as closed inner pores inside, said pores having a complex and rough developed surface. This material has a global porosity of up to 95 %, a volumetric density of up to 1250 kg/m3, a compressive strength of up to 22 Mpa, a thermal conductivity of up to 0.07 watts/(m.K) and a noise absorption capacity of up to 0.85. The method for producing the high-porosity ceramic material "Redoxite" involves preparing a plastic moulding of clay granules, drying the same, placing them layer by layer in moulds in the form of a strata and submitting the same to a thermal processing in order to ensure the swelling thereof.
