A process (I) for the manipulation of biotic or abiotic particles is new and comprises suspending the particles in a fluid microsystem which has closed ends that terminate the reference direction. Particle speed relative to the microsystem, is adjusted by predetermined centrifugal and/or gravitational forces acting parallel to the reference direction. Particles are also exposed to deflection forces differing in direction from the reference direction. An Independent claim is included for the microsystem (II).
