The wire guide roller (1) is for a wire saw, especially for the simultaneous cutting of bar-shaped bodies into a number of discs. It has a core (17) that preferably has a hollow chamber (23), a sleeve (18) surrounding the core and at least one cooling channel system (13-16). The cooling channel system is worked into the surface of the core in the form of channels (21,22) open at the top. At least one essential part of a cooling medium flow flows through the channel system from one end of the wire guide roller to the other end so that a cooling channel system near the surface of the roller with a minimal heat resistance to the surface of the roller is given, as also an even effect over essentially the whole length of the roller. |
