The present invention relates to a device intended for the linear displacement of a support (4) in an electronic reproduction apparatus (4), e.g. in a drum-type scanner. The device comprises a motor (13) with a stator and a rotor. The stator is fixed to the motor housing (14) so as to be rotationally blocked, while said motor housing (14) is fixed to the support (4) so as to be rotationally blocked, said support being guided by linear guiding members (10, 11). A threaded rod (7) parallel to the linear guiding members (10, 11) is mounted on its front side into bearings (8, 9) so as to be rotationally blocked. A threaded nut (12) surrounding the threaded rod (7) and co-operating with the same is mounted on the rotor of the motor (13) so that the rotating movement of the rotor can be converted into a linear displacement of the support (4).
