METHOD AND DEVICE FOR THE RECOVERY OF MONOETHANOLAMINE FROM WASTE SOLUTIONS

The monoethanolamine solutions are used for purging the gas for ammonia synthesis from carbon dioxide. From 2 to 5% 50% sodium base is added to the waste solutions of monoethanolamine heated at 90-100oC and agitation for 50 to 60 min. The mixture is then distilled under vacuum at temperature up to 140oC. As a result over 80% of the monoethanolamine bound is recovered to free monoethanolamine and can be reused for the absorption of the carbon dioxide from the synthesis gas. The method is effected in a device consisting of a reactor with a distiller connected to a vacuum pump, condenser and separator, respectively. 2 claim, 1 figure
