The invention relates to the agriculture, in particular, to the selection of farm crops and can be used for the creation of new lines, varieties and hybrids resistant to sowing thickness. Summary of the invention consists in plant cultivation in the conditions of thickness with a leaf index of 8...12 m2/m2, selection of leaf probes and exposure thereof to periodical illumination, oscillation measurement of the leaves bioelectric potential and evaluation of plant resistance to the sowing thickness according to the ratio value between the oscillation amplitude of the bioelectric potential of the tested probes and the value of this index for the standard variety, for the ratio values of 1,0...0,8 the plants are evaluated with that as high-resistant, for the values of 0,8...0,4 as middle-resistant and for the values of at least 0,4 as nonresistant.
