The method involves integration of acoustic borehole data with seismic data and comprises the steps of:<BR> a) taking input raw gathers and generating seismic traces therefrom, extracting a wavelet from each seismic trace and generating corresponding well traces, the well trace being generated by convolving well reflectivity with the extracted wavelet;<BR> b) for each seismic trace, measuring the "goodness of fit" by calculating the cross-correlation between the seismic trace and the corresponding well trace;<BR> c) for each wavelet, measuring the wavelet complexity by calculating the ratio of the second moment of the extracted wavelet to that of a reference wavelet; and<BR> d) based on the results obtained from steps b) and c), determining the optimum processing parameters for each processing step. |
