Compressed granulate contains highly pure cellulose and/or cellulose derivative that is insoluble but swells in water, finely-divided (co)polymer of (meth)acrylic acid or salt and liquid surfactant(s) that thickens or forms a gel with water. An Independent claim is also included for the production of the compressed granulate.
