The invention comprises 2-(21-hydroxy-naphthyl - 11) - 4:6-dihalogen-1:3:5-triazines, particularly those of formula (I) wherein one X is H and the other X is H, OH or halogen. Specified compounds are 2-(21-hydroxy, or 21:61 or 21:71-dihydroxy-naphthyl-11) -4:6-dichloro-1:3:5-triazines, 2-(61-bromo-21-hydroxy-naphthyl-11)-4:6-dichloro or 4-chloro-6-bromotriazines and the compound of formula (II) <FORM:0914798/IV (b)/1> The compounds of the invention are prepared by condensing a 2-hydroxynaphthalene with cyanuric chloride in presence of aluminium chloride and if desired halogenating the product; e.g. the above chlorobromo compound is obtained by reaction of the 21-hydroxynaphthyl-dichlorotriazine with bromine, the other compounds being obtained by the direct condensation method. |
