PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the number of data which can be transferred in parallel. SOLUTION: A drive unit 3 connected to the disk controller 2 for the disk array has a logical group 5 composed of a plurality of drives 4. In the logical group 5, respective pieces of data are doubled and stored so that copy data of the data held on the same drive are decentralized and held by mutually different drives other than the drive. When pieces of data held by the same drive are read out, doubled data or the source data of those pieces of data are read out of different drives in parallel. |
