PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable efficient operation by relating page allocating operation to layout operation. SOLUTION: A page allocation system which inputs information on page constitution and print conditions by fold section each, and generates and displays a page allocation table, displaying articles and advertisements entered into the same fold section on the same line, on a display and a layout processing system which performs a layout process according to operator's instructions while displaying the layout style of character strings and images of two spread pages on the display are incorporated in a computer and both the systems can selectively be used. When an operator clicks one point Q corresponding to a specific page in the page allocation table with a mouse while the page allocation system is in operation, the operation is switched to the operation of the layout processing system to display the two spread pages including the specific page, so that the layout style can be corrected. The display can be put back to the display picture of the page allocation table by inputting a page allocation table display command.
