PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a special effect processing, not only when performing non-linear non-destructive edit, but also when performing linear destructive edit, by incorporating a special effect processing function. SOLUTION: An A/V server 1 comprises, a recording ports 10, 30, 20, 40; an editing manager 50 including a router 51, a CPU 52 and a RAM 53; a video effector 60; and an HDD(hard disk drive) array 90 including a plurality of HDDs 1001,...,100n. The A/V server 1 stores, in the RAM 53, an amount of delay generated when a VTR is reproduced or an amount of delay generated when an internal file is reproduced. The A/V server 1 on occasion detects a time code, accompanying a signal that has been input to a recording port 10 when the VTR was reproduced, or the internal file, from a time code detecting section 12 or 43, and based on the thus-obtained time code and an edit list, a reproduction command is issued in advance by the amount of delay.
