PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize a fixed pattern noise in order to obtain an image of high sensitivity and high quality by reading a horizontal read line signal after a horizontal selection switch is turned off. SOLUTION: A horizontal read line signal is read out after a horizontal selection switch QHj is turned off. A horizontal selection signalϕHj is inputted from a horizontal scanning circuit HSR to one of both input sides of every AND gate AGj of a horizontal read control circuit HCL with a selection control signalϕHT common to all columns inputted to the other input side of the gate AGj respectively. The output of every gate AGj is supplied to the gate of the switch QHj of each corresponding column. The signalϕHT limits the pulse width of the signalϕHj outputted from the circuit HSR and cuts off the switch QHj after the signal sent from every vertical read line is transferred to a horizontal read line LH and before the line LH is reset.
