PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize a laser power output by superposing a high frequency signal on a driving signal and varying the frequency and/or amplitude of the high frequency signal of a high frequency superposing means according to the information recording and the information reading operation mode in an optical disk device. SOLUTION: The laser driver 5 of an optical pickup generates a prescribed laser driving signal based on a recording signal at the time of a record mode and generates a prescribed laser driving signal at the time of a reproduction mode to supply them to a high frequency superposing circuit 6. The high frequency superposing circuit 6 superposes a high frequency coming from the high frequency oscillation circuit incorporated in the circuit 6 on the laser driving signal via a modulation means. At this time, a superposing frequency variable circuit 7 generates a control signal varying the superposing frequency in the high frequency superposing circuit 6 in accordance with a mode changeover signal CMOD from a control circuit 2 to supply it to the high frequency superposing circuit 6, which changes the frequency and the amplitude of the high frequency signal which is to be superposed on the laser driving signal based on the control signal. |
