PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a file transfer device which facilitates file transfer even between computers differing in architecture. SOLUTION: A file list display means 11A displays a list of files of a host computer A1 on a host screen display device A2 and a screen image data acquiring means 12 acquires and makes a screen image into data. A screen image data transmitting means 13 sends the data to a terminal computer B1 and a screen image data display means 22 displays the data on a terminal screen display device B2. A user selects a desired file to be received from the list screen, obtains specific input data, and sends the input data to the host computer A1. A file selecting means 15A retrieves a file and sends and transfers the retrieved file to the terminal computer B1.
