PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile equipment that can select processing of a long original or recording received information in N pages into 1 page (N in 1 recording) on request of the user even when both side recording is selected. SOLUTION: When a long original is received at a double side recording mode, the selection of whether the data of the long original are to be recorded on one side or to be recorded on both sides is executed by a selection button 28. Furthermore, the selection of whether or not the N in 1 recording should be made valid is executed by a selection button 32 in the case of double side recording. When the N in 1 recording is made valid at double side recording, recording of a plurality of received information data on both the front side and rear side of the recording paper sheet is permitted, and when the N in 1 recording is invalidated, only one page of received information is recorded on the front side and rear side of the recording paper. Moreover, when a transmitter designates a front side/rear side for each page, the N in 1 recording is invalidated even when the received information satisfies the conditions of the N in 1 recording in the case the N in 1 recording is valid in the double side recording mode.
