PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress such a defect that the light emitted from the rear surface of a laser chip is scattered on the inside wall of a laser stage, and a part of the scattered light passes through a laser window to irradiate the scanning surface as outside disturbance light. SOLUTION: A light 12 emitted from the rear surface of a laser chip 8 of a semiconductor laser 1 is reflected on a reflecting means 2 provided at the laser stage 14 in a prescribed direction, and guided in such a direction not to reach the surface to be scanned after passing through a laser window 9. Thus, the light emitted from the rear surface of the laser chip 8 is prevented from reaching the surface to be scanned as disturbance light.
